BOOSTXL - Kimberly Bryant x Leigh Ann Buchanan

Kimberly Bryant shares lessons learned through leadership and adversity when a mission is on your mind in coversation with Guest host of BOOSTXL, Leigh-Ann Buchanan.

The valleys of leadership are often personal and require determination to overcome. For Kimberly Bryant, those challenges were brought to light in a very public way. The founder of Black Girls CODE is determined to move forward in a positive way, not just for herself but for the girls of color that she has dedicated her career to uplifting.

Named by Business Insider as one of “The 25 Most Influential African-Americans in Technology,” and as one of FastCompany’s Most Creative People, Kimberly built her career at various Fortune 50 companies such as Genentech, Merck, and Pfizer, growing her engineering and technical leadership skills. With 20 years spent on the inside of the tech industry, she decided to found Black Girls CODE and helped transform it from a grassroots organization into an internationally recognized non-profit. Partnering with corporations like IBM, Google, Nike, and Facebook, the organization now boasts fifteen chapters across the U.S. and in Johannesburg, South Africa with the vision to train 1,000,000 girls by 2040 to “change the face of technology.”

Valence’s BOOSTXL event series is powered by Silicon Valley Bank.
